At Discover The Journey, we think it is more important who we are, than the things we do. We believe that taking action to change the world starts with changing our own hearts. DTJ's team is a group of young somethings who believe in redemptive love. We are walking together in the pursuit of Christ and the care for the oppressed, the vulnerable, and children at-risk all over the world.

DTJ's team at this point work totally on a volunteer basis. We are excited to add to the team and we anticipate much growth in the future. Within Discover The Journey, we are curious to know your passions, gifts and talents, and callings and as believe there are thousands of ways to serve Children at-risk around the globe. We are looking for people who hold obedience above sacrafice and being safe and holding on to comfort. We are not seeking to change the world, just love people, and sometimes that means traveling around the world to put ourselves in front of those suffering and experiencing injustice.

We want to work with people who are actively fighting against fear with perfect love, destroying apathy with compassion, leaving comfort to join in others suffering, and replacing doubt with faith. We think that as people, our actions have a consequence, so either way, each of us will change the world. Will the change you make be driven by selfish motives, or selfless love?

JOB OPPORTUNITIES
In the initial phase of the company, because of our small size, we are looking for highly gifted individuals who are able to operate in more than one sphere, as the job duties will often overlap. We love the idea of partnering, and collaboration and creating an environment where creative and innovative ideas can flow into our culture on behalf of children at-risk around the globe. We want to hold all of our resources, including human resources, with open hands.

As the company resources grow, and the task load increases, we are excited to see where volunteers can fall into more specialized roles that maximize their giftings, with the hope of creating staff that are well suited to carry out the tall order of speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves. We believe, as followers of Jesus who are working to produce media and tell these sacred stories, that we should operate on a equal or better level professionally and artistically as other companies in our industry. Cry Out Project Coordinator

Timeline: Begining immediately

Commitment: Part-time (1-2 days a week at the DTJ office) 1 year minimum commitment.

Description: Cry Out is a three year vision to mobilize prayer targeting the four countries in the Near East of Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq. Please see www.cryoutnow.org for more information. Cry Out is an open partnership centered around the idea of prayer, and is not owned by any one organization or denomination. Discover The Journey, however, has the priveledge creating the media for this vital initiative. We are currently looking for a Cry Out project coordinator. Coordinator would be working out of the Discover The Journey office, thus it is necessary they live in Southern California. Applicant should be organized, self-motivated, and have administrative skills/gifts. More importantly, we hope to find someone with an interest in the Middle East, a heart for that region of the world and a passion for prayer. The Cry Out Coordinator would work closely with Discover The Journey Director to carry out the vision of Cry Out. Tasks would include:

-Coordinating Translation of Media from Arabic to English
-Planning and Organizing future Video Team Journey's to the Middle East (Iraq and Syria in May)
-Assisting the Cry Out media Director.
-Communicating project updates with Cry Out Leadership
-Responding to inquiries of Prayer Teams hoping to journey to these nations.
-Liasoning with on-the-ground workers and nationals in the four lands to ensure up-to-date information/stories/prayer appeals are relayed to the Cry Out website.
-Managing Cry Out Social Networking Sites (eg Cry Out Facebook group)
-Gathering content and relaying it to the Cry Out website designers to reach the target launch date of Phase II of the site.
